The Biomaterials and Biocomposites course is a multidisciplinary field that provides students with the knowledge necessary for the understanding of commonly-used biomaterials and biocomposites. It focuses on the study of materials for clinical practice and medical devices as well as other substances for non-medical applications. It develops knowledge of material engineering, physical, chemical and biological disciplines and provides the student with a deep knowledge of the structure and analysis of materials with an emphasis on the student's understanding of their interactions with living systems. It enables the students to learn the latest techniques in the research of biocomposites, the improving of their properties and appropriate application. This research-focused doctoral degree program has been designed for a narrowly targeted group of graduates of the master's degree programs in Materials Engineering, Chemistry and Technology of Materials, and related disciplines.
